Managing MAC table

  • The MAC address type can either be static or dynamic.
  • Show the VLAN, MAC address, Type, and Port.

Managing Switching Table Sizes

General

  • For lower-end switches, the finite memory can be adjusted to accommodate switch roles.
  • This is done by changing the switch template.
  • Also called: SDM, or Switch Database Management.

Activate SDM Template

  • The SDM template can be changed to another template by (On a 9300-24UX).
    • sw-27(config)#sdm prefer nat
      Changes to the running SDM preferences have been stored, but cannot take effect until the next reload. Use 'show sdm prefer' to see what SDM preference is currently active.
