VMware vCenter 8 - Datastore

Add a Synology NFS Datastore

  1. In Synology NAS
    1. Control Panel—>Shared Folders
    2. Select the Shared folder
    3. Select Edit
    4. Select NFS Permissions tab
      1. Select Create
        1. Add IP: 10.0.0.0/8
        2. Privilege: Read/Write
        3. Squash: No mapping
        4. Security: sys
        5. Asynchronous: Yes
        6. Allow user to access mounted subfolders: Yes
        7. Select Ok
      2. Select Ok
  2. In vCenter
    1. Select Datacenter
    2. Right click—>Storage—>New Datastore
    3. Type
      1. NFS
      2. Select Next
    4. NFS Version
      1. NFS 4.1
      2. Select Next
    5. Name and Configuration
      1. Name: NAS-Software
      2. Folder: /volume1/Software-nas1
      3. Server: 192.168.1.205
      4. Select Add
      5. Select Next
    6. Kerberos authentication
      1. Don’t use
      2. Select Next
    7. Hosts accessibility
      1. Select the host
      2. Select Next
    8. Ready to complete
      1. Finish
