There are three options to upload the software to the laptop:

1. Through a share drive and copy to local hard drive
2. Through an external USB drive (Preferred)
3. Through Blu-Ray optical media and copy to local hard drive

• Minimum Requirements for the laptop
  • Internet not required
  • Windows 10/11 (Other Operating Systems will work and please contact us for those requirements)
  • A local admin account with a password that does not contain an exclamation point in it, except at the end if one is used.
    • The password is a Linux limitation and cannot be bypassed.
  • A folder called “nim” that allows the local admin read/write privileges
  • The nim folder contains the VxRail software
  • PowerShell

      • Check current version

      • $PSVersionTable

    • Execution Policy set to RemoteSigned
      • Check current policy

      • Get-ExecutionPolicy

      • Set policy

      • Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -Scope LocalMachine

  • Bi-directional read/write USB access
